One Wing At A Time – The Path Continues

Even when one wing feels missing, something inside us still knows how to rise. This season isn’t about flying perfectly — it’s about discovering that flight was never dependent on symmetry. It was always dependent on awakening.

Part Four: When the Path Breaks Open

There comes a moment in every life when the path you’ve been walking suddenly stops making sense. You’ve followed it for years — maybe decades — and then one day, you realize you’re supposed to step off of it. You’re supposed to branch out, turn inward, and walk in a direction no one else understands.

And that moment feels impossible.

This summer has been one of the hardest of my life. I’ve had difficult summers before, but this one carries a different weight — a lineage weight, a generational weight, a sense that I’m breaking through something that has held my family in place for a very long time.

Every time I try to take a step forward, I feel the paralysis of the lineage rise inside me. The fear. The stagnation. The belief that movement isn’t safe. The belief that change will cost too much. The belief that stepping out of the norm means losing everything.

I feel it in my bones. I feel it in my breath. I feel it in the places where my children’s bodies speak the truth of our family system.

And yet — something is breaking open.

The Paralyzed Lineage

I’ve wondered many times if this paralysis is part of why Ethan was born the way he was. Not in a literal sense — but in the way lineage patterns express themselves through the body. I feel the same paralysis inside myself: the fear of moving forward, the insecurity, the heaviness that makes getting out of bed feel like lifting a mountain.

But then something happens — something small, something miraculous — and the entire story shifts.

Ethan felt a mosquito bite on his leg this week. He felt itchiness on his skin. He felt fiery sensations in nerves that have been quiet for years.

These moments are real. They’re grounded in his body. They’re part of his healing journey. They’re not imagined — they’re witnessed, felt, and celebrated.

And they remind me that even when the lineage feels frozen, something inside us is waking up.

The Dark Night & The Miracle

At the same time, Aiden’s spine — which had been steadily aligning — took a step back. His curvature increased. It was painful to see. It was confusing. It was heartbreaking.

But even that is part of the story.

Not because regression is “good,” not because suffering is “necessary,” but because healing is not linear. It moves in waves. It reveals what still needs attention. It shows us where the lineage is still holding on.

Some days I feel like I can’t move. Some days I feel like I’m sinking. Some days I feel like the old confusion — the confusion I felt as a child, the confusion my brother felt in his illness — rises inside me like a fog.

And I ask myself: Am I losing myself? Am I imagining things? Am I going crazy?

But then I remember: confusion is not madness. Confusion is a sign that something old is dissolving. Confusion is the cocoon — the place where the caterpillar doesn’t know what it’s becoming, only that it’s changing.

The caterpillar doesn’t strategize. It doesn’t analyze. It doesn’t panic.

It simply becomes.

And that is what I feel happening now.

The Father’s Voice

My dad has been calling me. Leaving messages. Praying. Showing up in ways I never expected.

His presence is real. His voice is real. His effort is real. And every time he calls, something inside me softens — not because he’s perfect, not because everything is healed, but because connection is happening where there used to be silence.

He tells me he prays all night. He tells me he feels something shifting. He tells me he’s trying.

And then the next day, something in my life — or in my children’s lives — shifts too.

Not magically. Not instantly. But meaningfully.

These moments don’t prove anything supernatural. They don’t replace medical care or grounded support. They simply show me that connection matters. Presence matters. Healing relationships matter. And when a father and daughter reconnect after decades of distance, something in the lineage responds.

The Cocoon & The Breakthrough

Every day feels like a dark night and a miracle at the same time.

I feel taken down. I feel lifted up. I feel confused. I feel clear. I feel powerless. I feel strong.

It’s all happening at once.

And maybe that’s the point.

Maybe healing isn’t about choosing one path — the easy one, the logical one, the familiar one. Maybe healing is about walking through the confusion, the stagnation, the fear, and trusting that something inside us knows how to break open.

Just like the cocoon. Just like the butterfly. Just like the lineage that is finally beginning to move.

The Invitation

I don’t have answers. I don’t have certainty. I don’t have a map.

But I do have this: A willingness to keep going. A willingness to stay present. A willingness to let the old patterns unravel.

I invite you to stay close as I continue to write these blogs — not because I have the truth, but because we are all navigating something together. We are all breaking out of old molds. We are all awakening to new possibilities. We are all learning how to move again.

And maybe, just maybe, if we walk this path together, none of us will feel so alone.

Here we go. One step. One breath. One wing at a time.

If you resonate with this article, please let me know.  Please like and share… and please respond to this inquiry, I’d love to hear from you.

Where in your life do you feel like you’re trying to fly with one wing — and what part of you is quietly learning to rise anyway?

A Lineage Shift In this Time, which is Connected to all Space, Time, and Dimension

One of the Many Examples of a Lineage Shift In this Time, which is Connected to all Space, Time, and Dimension

There are days that arrive disguised as ordinary—days that look like any other from the outside but carry the weight of generations inside them. You don’t know they’re coming. You don’t prepare for them. They simply unfold, and somewhere in the middle of the unfolding, you realize you are witnessing a turning point.

This chapter is about one of those days.

To understand what happened on that hot, heavy track in Grand Rapids, Michigan, you have to understand where Ethan began.

Ethan was born with spina bifida, a condition that shaped the architecture of his childhood and most of his adult life. He spent years in a wheelchair, navigating a world that rarely paused long enough to understand him. People saw his diagnosis, his mobility challenges, his medical chart—but very few saw him. Very few understood how to connect with him in a way that translated his abilities into a methodical, integrated pathway forward.

No one ever took the time to help him “get it”— emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually.

No one knew how to extract what he could do and build upon it as a structured, embodied, whole‑person approach to healing. He was surrounded by people who cared, but not by people who understood how to guide him toward full-spectrum healing that touches every aspect of life.

And yet, despite all of this, Ethan kept moving. He kept sensing. He kept trying to understand himself in ways the world never taught him. He kept reaching for something more.

Now, as a young man, he is doing something extraordinary: He is shifting the pattern. He is sensing the lineage. He is feeling the weight that didn’t start with him—and he is choosing to transform it.

This is not just physical healing. This is ancestral healing. As he shifts, we all shift.

The day of the track meet was brutal. The heat pressed down like a hand on the chest. The air barely moved. The track itself was slow—one of those surfaces that absorbs speed instead of returning it. Under normal circumstances, it would have been a day to blame conditions, shrug off the results, and move on.

But something deeper was happening.

Ethan didn’t run his best times. What he did do was far more important: he stayed present.

He supported teammates. He laughed, connected, focused. He carried himself with a steadiness I had never seen in him before.

It wasn’t the performance that caught my attention—it was the way he was.

There was a groundedness in him, a quiet leadership, a sense of belonging that had nothing to do with speed or rankings. He was in his body in a way I had never witnessed. He was in his life in a way that felt new.

Then he told me something that cracked open the entire day.

His chest felt tight. His lungs felt heavy. His breath wouldn’t drop in fully. He felt pressure he couldn’t explain.

Most athletes would blame the heat or the track. But when I asked him, “When was the first time you ever felt this?” he didn’t talk about today. He talked about Arizona—his freshman year of college, during the height of COVID, when he was trying to escape home and prove himself at the same time.

That moment opened a door.

Because I knew that feeling.

I lived that feeling as a child—carrying the weight of my father’s unconsciousness, the tension of my mother’s pain, the fractures in our home. I grew up with a chest that could never fully expand, a breath that never felt free. And without knowing it, I passed some of that heaviness on.

Not because I didn’t love my children. But because lineage travels quietly. It settles in the body. It becomes breath, posture, pressure, expectation.

And today, on a hot track in Michigan, Ethan felt it. And I felt it with him.

We breathed together. We named what was happening. We didn’t run from it. We didn’t pretend it was about weather or performance. We let it rise.

And something shifted.

His eyes brightened. His shoulders dropped. His rib cage opened. His breath flowed. His whole system softened into a clarity that only comes when the past loosens its grip.

This is what happens when generational trauma meets generational awareness. This is what happens when lineage is felt, honored, and allowed to move.

It is not a shedding. It is not a letting go. It is an opening—like a lotus flower rising from the muck, rooted in everything that came before, transforming it into light.

All parts of us matter. All layers belong. And when they are allowed to open, miracles happen.

Ethan realized he wasn’t broken. He wasn’t behind. He wasn’t failing. He was carrying something that didn’t belong to him—and he finally set it down.

From that place, he began imagining what comes next: the marathon, the training, the races we’ll put on the calendar. Not from pressure, but from possibility. Not from fear, but from connection. He started to understand that he already has everything he needs inside him—he just needed space to feel it.

And I realized something too.

I wasn’t late. I wasn’t absent. I wasn’t failing my kids. I was doing the work my parents never had the tools to do. I was breaking a pattern by staying present in a moment where generations before me would have shut down.

This is the beginning of our family’s healing. Not just in this lifetime, but across lifetimes. Across dimensions. Across the entire web of ancestry that brought us here.

Layer after layer opening. Light rising through the lineage. Breath returning to the body. Miracles becoming natural again.

Today wasn’t about track times. It was about lineage. It was about breath. It was about the quiet miracle of a young man reclaiming his body and a mother reclaiming her place in the story.

Healing doesn’t always look like victory. Sometimes it looks like a slow track, a hot day, a tight chest, and a conversation that changes everything.

And sometimes, it looks like a son finally breathing freely—and a mother finally realizing she can too.

The Unveiling Continues as we continue to explore what happens when the lineage responds — when children change, parents soften, and the entire family system begins to heal in real time…

Part Three: The Father Call & The Child Within

This morning, after my run, something in me said, Call your dad. Not from fear. Not from habit. But from a deeper place — a place that wanted to emerge into a different relationship, a place that wanted to see what was truly there.

So I called him.

He answered, but he didn’t have time to talk. And instead of collapsing into the old wound, I softened.

“Dad… I have an interview soon. I need you to call me this morning. I need to hear from you. I need your support right now.”

He listened. He leaned in. I heard a different dad — one who was present, attentive, willing.

“I’ll call you right back, hun. What time can I call you?”

“10 a.m. your time,” I said. “9 a.m. mine.”

I had a client session right after — a session that was not about me, but about them. And yet, as I worked with their energy, I could feel the resonance of their own childhood confusion, their own early hurts, their own sexual trauma stored in the body. It was heavy, dense, familiar in a way that lineage wounds often are.

We cleared the imprint — a moment in a crib, wanting a toy, not receiving it, and the confusion that became lodged in the energy field. A moment that shaped how this person approached difficult situations, how they froze, how they waited, how they couldn’t find solutions.

We cleared it with Creator. And suddenly, they could approach their current life challenge from a new point of entry — clarity instead of confusion.

But then my time was gone. And my dad hadn’t called.

The Abandonment Wound Returns

Immediately, the old wound rose — the middle school version of me standing on the curb after practice, waiting for hours for a dad who never came. The child who walked home alone. The child who learned to expect abandonment physically, emotionally, mentally.

I felt all of it.

The years of confusion. The years of trying to understand why life felt so hard. The years of feeling unworthy of being chosen.

And then — ten minutes into my interview — my dad called.

Holding Two Worlds at Once

I was live, on camera, speaking about the chapter I contributed to Brave Families: The Ultimate Guide to Long-Lasting, Loving Relationships— Chapter 23, “Returning to the Mother’s Womb.” (Available here on Amazon)

I was speaking about lineage trauma, about how we return to the point of creation, about how healing at the root transforms the entire family line backward and forward through time.

I was speaking about how we are like a spider web — and when we pour liquid gold into the center, the entire web shifts.

And in the background, my dad was calling.

My heart raced — not because of the interview, but because the child inside me felt abandoned again, unseen again, afraid again… and yet also elated that he was calling at all.

I was holding two polarities at once:

  • The healer speaking about light, lineage, and miracles
  • The child shaking inside an adult body, terrified and hopeful at the same time

And somehow, I spoke clearly. I spoke eloquently. I spoke truth.

Not because of me — but because when we triangulate with Creator, the words come through us, not from us.

The Healing Happened in Real Time

The people interviewing me were exactly who I needed:

  • Two healers devoted to God
  • A financial advisor
  • A community of witnesses

They were teaching me how to be a better person even as I was speaking about healing. A miracle in motion.

I was seeking healing. I was receiving healing. I was offering healing. All at once.

The Call That Finally Came Through

When the interview ended, I walked outside with my phone in hand and called my dad — not to tell him about the interview, but to receive what I always needed as a child:

Connection. Presence. Healing.

He didn’t answer.

The letdown hit hard. But I recognized it — this was happening for me, not to me.

So I paused. I breathed. I said to myself:

“This has to be different. I am shifting this reality.”

I called again.

And this time — he answered.

He was there for me. Finally. Again.

My heart sang.

“Dad… I want to talk with you more. I want to know what happened. I want to hear it all. Dad, I need your help. You know that prayer I sent you…?”

The Father Call, The Prayer, and the Lineage Rising

After my dad finally answered the phone, after years of longing for connection, after decades of abandonment wounds rising and falling inside me, I felt something shift. Something open. Something soften.

“Dad… I want to talk with you more. I want to know what happened. I want to hear it all. Dad, I need your help.”

And then I said the words I had been waiting to say:

“Dad… I sent you the clearing prayer from John Newton. I need you to say it every day.”

He tried to interrupt — Taurus energy, just like me — determined, focused, unstoppable once the charge begins. But I held the moment.

“Wait, Dad. I need to explain. It’s a prayer encoded with the ability to heal in all space, time, and dimension. It’s energy. Energy that wants to move. Energy that wants to be given back to Creator to be transformed.”

He listened, but I could feel his impatience rising — the bull ready to run.

So I let him.

“Jennifer… there’s so much you don’t know. Your brother is really struggling right now. He’s confused. The medical system keeps pumping him with medications just to cover up something we can’t figure out.”

I interrupted — Taurus daughter meeting Taurus father head‑on.

“Dad… I know what’s wrong with Richard. That’s why you MUST say the prayer at least ten times a day.”

He sighed. “Jennifer, that prayer is too long.”

And I said the truth:

“Dad… it has been TOO long. That’s exactly why you must do this. I don’t want you to die with this. I don’t want Richard to die with this. I don’t want our entire family and lineage to carry this forward until we finally realize what we can do right now. This is necessary. And I KNOW Richard will heal — but only with our help.”

The Flashback That Rose Like a Wave

As I spoke, a memory hit me — the 16‑year‑old version of myself walking into the mental hospital where my brother was housed. Trying to convince him to be okay. Watching him put his fingers toward light sockets, claiming they were communicating with him. Another realm. Another reality.

I saw it all again — the trauma, the helplessness, the longing to save him.

Was I delusional now? Was I reaching too far?

No. I have seen too many miracles.

Cancer dissolving. Pain disappearing. Patterns releasing in an instant. People awakening to their true selves the moment the deepest belief is cleared.

I know what is possible.

The Story My Dad Finally Told

Special Thank you to the artist Viola Khue

“Jennifer… you need to know what happened in our family.”

And he began.

He told me how he tried — with my grandfather, with my mother, with my uncle — and how they all saw him as the cause of everything. The black sheep. The one who didn’t live up to his potential. The one who wasn’t good enough because he didn’t make enough money.

He told me how he made my grandfather $250,000 in the stock market — money meant to help pay for my college — and how the rest was lost in the chaos of our family’s struggles.

He told me about Aunt Irene — how she was singled out, misunderstood, treated as the one who always did something wrong. And I remembered my uncle, near death, asking me to send her the painting he made. I didn’t want to — I loved that painting — but I did it anyway. And I saw his heart open in that moment, his own lineage healing before he passed.

As my dad spoke, the connections lit up like constellations. Everything made sense. Every wound had a root. Every pattern had a story.

The Moment of Truth

“Dad… it’s okay. I love you. And we have to do this together. We have to heal. Say the prayer. Miracles will happen. Synchronicities will come back. It’s our natural state.”

I told him I had done the prayer myself — but that doing it together was more powerful than doing it alone.

“Our family and lineage depend on this.”

And then I saw it — in my mind’s eye — Richard awakening. Coming out of the toxicity. Returning to himself. A new reality forming as my dad agreed to stick with it this time.

He has promised before. He has given up before. And that pattern lives in me too — the stall, the pause, the giving up.

I see it in my kids.

“No more,” I said. “Dad, we have to speak every day. We have to keep this going.”

He agreed.

The Lineage Rising

I told him about Ethan and Aiden — how their healing reflects the entire family line. How their bodies are showing us what must be cleared. How their progress is the mirror of our ancestral work.

He understood.

And then I saw it — myself traveling to Connecticut, seeing my dad again, meeting my brother after all these years. A reunion. A healing. A return.

Here we are — continuing the journey. Documenting the miracles. Witnessing the shifts. Clearing the lineage. Breathing the breath. Moving the energy. Doing the work.

Two powerful bulls charging ahead.

Here we go.

The Moment the Lineage Speaks Back – Continued from “Turning Inward to Open Outward: A Morning of Lineage Healing”

In this next blog, I further explain the insights from the family healing, and I call my Dad to urge him to keep the healing work going…

The Moment the Lineage Speaks Back

There is a moment in every healing journey when the lineage speaks back.

It doesn’t happen loudly. It doesn’t happen dramatically. It happens quietly — in the body, in the breath, in the subtle shifts that show us the past is finally ready to be released.

After the family left, after the little boy melted into my hands and softened his inward‑turned shoulder, after the parents exhaled decades of unspoken fear, something inside me opened even more.

I realized that what happened in that room wasn’t just their healing. It was mine. It was all of ours.

Because lineage healing is never isolated. It is communal. It is shared. It is a ripple that moves through every generation at once.

The Mother Wound Rising to the Surface

As I sat alone afterward, I felt the ache of mothers everywhere — the ones who carried guilt for births that didn’t go as planned, the ones who felt disconnected from their partners, the ones who silently wondered if they were failing.

I felt the ache of my own mother. Her longing. Her confusion. Her inability to connect in the way she wanted to but never learned how.

I felt the ache of her mother. And her mother. And her mother.

A lineage of women who carried more than they could name.

And suddenly, I understood:

The healing we do now is not just for our children. It is for every mother who came before us. Every father who didn’t know how to show up. Every child who grew up wondering why love felt complicated.

The Father Wound Opening

Then came the father energy — the one that has been the hardest for me to face.

The father who didn’t know how to connect. The father who raged. The father who numbed. The father who didn’t know how to be present because no one had ever been present for him.

And yet, this morning, he spoke clearly. He spoke lovingly. He spoke like a man who had been waiting decades to say the words he finally said.

“You can’t change the past, but you can build your future right now.”

It was as if the lineage itself cracked open and allowed something new to come through — a father energy that was finally ready to heal.

The Truth of Lineage Healing

This is what I now understand:

Lineage healing is not about fixing the past. It is about freeing the present. It is about allowing the stories, the wounds, the misunderstandings, the fears, and the inherited patterns to rise — so they can finally be seen.

Because once they are seen, they can be released.

And once they are released, the lineage breathes again.

The Opening Ahead

This is the beginning of a deeper unraveling — the part where we stop asking:

“What did I do wrong?” “What can I fix?” “When will this end?”

And begin asking:

“What is ready to be freed?” “What is rising to be healed?” “What is opening for my children, my parents, and myself?”

This is where the real work begins. This is where the lineage shifts. This is where miracles become natural.

Then when we are allowed  the part where we explore what happens when the lineage begins to respond, when the children shift, when the parents soften, and when the entire family system reorganizes itself around truth.

Here we go. The unveiling continues.

Part II: A Morning of Remembering & A Morning of Lineage Healing

Turning Inward to Open Outward: A Morning of Lineage Healing

In the previos blog I spoke about the lineage healing

This morning’s healing didn’t end when I left yoga — it expanded.

During practice, I felt the deep ache that so many mothers carry when a child is born with a disability or an unexpected injury. The questions that haunt us: What did I do wrong? Why is this happening? How do I fix it? When will the pain end? The longing to make everything better, easier, lighter — not just for our children, but for ourselves.

I felt the ache of mothers who were never validated by their partners. Fathers who didn’t know how to connect. Husbands who didn’t understand the sacred softening that happens between a mother and her child. The disconnect that forms when life disappoints us and we don’t know how to name it.

These thoughts weren’t random. They were lineage memories — stored patterns rising to be cleared.

And then, right after yoga, a family came for a session.

A Little Boy’s Story: Turning Inward to Find the Truth

Their son was born with a brachial plexus injury. He had been stuck in the birth canal, his right shoulder compressed, his arm turning inward as he crawled — a physical reflection of the inward turning we all must do to understand what is truly happening beneath the surface.

His injury brought sleepless nights, exhaustion, fear, and the quiet question every parent asks in moments like this: What did we do wrong?

But as we worked together — Reiki, ancestral clearing, energy alignment — it became clear that the injury wasn’t just physical. It was a mirror.

A mirror of the mother’s lifelong longing to connect with her own father. A mirror of the unspoken disconnect between her parents. A mirror of the feeling she carried since childhood: Something is wrong. Why can’t I connect?

Right shoulder. Right heart. Right lineage.

The little boy’s inward‑turned palm was the body’s way of saying: Look inside. Something here wants to be freed.

The Family Pattern Revealed

As the children played and the parents spoke, the deeper story emerged:

  • Dad works upstairs, hearing the chaos downstairs, wanting to swoop in and save everyone.
  • Mom feels inadequate, believing she “failed” at birth and should somehow know how to fix everything.
  • Both parents silently carry fears they’ve never voiced.
  • Both feel alone.
  • Both want connection.
  • Both want community.

And beneath it all, the same longing lived in each of them — the longing for reunion, for security, for the feeling that nothing is wrong and everything is held.

This is lineage. This is patterning. This is the elephant in the room that every family feels but rarely names.

The Healing Moment

As the energy worked through the room, the little boy suddenly crawled over to me and melted into my hands — completely surrendered. His body softened, his breath deepened, and the release happened.

He let go.

And as he did, the entire family softened with him.

When he returned from that release, he crawled with less internal rotation — more neutrality, more openness, more freedom.

Mom and Dad learned how to massage his shoulder, arm, and heart space — front and back — using marjoram oil to support the healing. They left with a plan:

  • reconnection with Dad
  • reconnection with her own father
  • permission for Mom to create again
  • permission for Dad to support without rescuing
  • permission for the family to receive help
  • permission for community to enter
  • permission for lineage to heal

They left peaceful, yawning, relaxed — ready for their 2.5‑hour drive home, the children falling asleep in the car, the energy settling into their bodies.

The Deeper Truth

This morning showed me something profound:

Healing is not about fixing. Healing is not about perfection. Healing is not about doing everything alone.

Healing is about turning inward so we can open outward.

It’s about community. It’s about lineage. It’s about seeing the patterns that live inside us — the ones passed down from mothers, fathers, grandparents — and finally giving them permission to be released.

It’s about returning to the womb of creation, where miracles are our natural state.

Before they left, I asked the mother to place her hands on her belly each day — to send Reiki to the new life growing inside her. To bring light into the lineage. To soften. To reconnect. To prepare for a birth that is supported, held, and aligned with truth.

This is the work. This is the healing. This is the return to love.

Peace to all.

A Morning of Remembering: Yoga, Lineage, and the Unexpected Opening of My Heart

A Morning of Remembering: Yoga, Lineage, and the Unexpected Opening of My Heart

Today, I went to yoga.

I didn’t expect anything unusual — just movement, breath, and a moment to be present. But the teacher played the most incredible music, and something inside me cracked open. Before class even began, I had been beating myself up for all the ways I felt I had contributed to the struggles in our family. My mind kept circling back to my dad, my grandmother, my mom, my uncle, my grandfather — the entire lineage on both sides.

The memories were heavy: the beatings, the harshness, the belittling, the way children were “kept in their place.” I remembered the early days of Reiki, when I was told I spoke too sharply, too intensely. I saw the threads connecting everything — the patterns passed down, the wounds inherited, the misunderstandings absorbed.

It all came rushing back.

The Lineage That Lives in the Body

During class, I had a flashback to a recent track meet. I saw a mother there — overweight, exhausted, worn down by life — and I recognized the hurt she carried in her body. Instead of leaning in, I pulled away. I didn’t help her feel comfortable. I didn’t ask who she was cheering for. I avoided connection.

And in that moment, I realized: I have done this before. I have pulled away when I could have leaned in.

Not because I didn’t care — but because I was overwhelmed, scared, and still carrying the weight of my own family’s pain. I was so focused on my internal storms that I forgot how much community matters. How much people matter. How much we matter to one another.

The Beach I Wouldn’t Let Myself Visit

My son asked me recently if I had gone to the beach — one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, right here where we live. I told him no. He knows how much I love the ocean.

But I said I didn’t deserve to go.

Not because I wanted to suffer, but because I felt a responsibility to heal what I now see so clearly in our lineage. I felt I needed to stay with the work — the clearing, the understanding, the unraveling — before allowing myself the comfort of the beach.

I know healing isn’t about deprivation. I know suffering isn’t required. But sometimes the weight of karmic patterns feels so real, so present, that the heart insists on staying with it until it shifts.

Yoga: The Moment Everything Broke Open

So I went to yoga. I stayed present. I listened.

Each track of music brought up more memories — more hurts, more wrongs, more longing.

I longed for a mother who understood me. I longed for a father who could see me. I longed for the childhood I didn’t have.

I remembered the rage, the scolding, the instability, the fear. And I felt the truth: these patterns still live inside me. They shape how I show up as a mother. They shape how I respond under stress. They shape how I love.

I lost my balance in a pose. I fell. I cursed under my breath.

And I realized: This is the work. This is the healing. This is the lineage asking to be cleared.

The Call That Changed Everything

After class, I walked to my car and — without thinking — called my dad. The same dad I often avoid out of fear. The same dad whose presence has always felt unpredictable.

I cried. I told him I loved him. I told him I wished life had been different.

We talked about the Fourth of July, about the hole in my heart, about the things he did and the things I did. And then he said something I have never heard from him in my entire life:

“You can’t change the past, but you can build your future right now. I love you, Jennifer. You can do it. You work hard for that family. You get it done.”

His voice was clear — crystal clear — not slurred, not foggy, not distant. It was like speaking to a different man. And in that moment, I knew something had shifted. Not just in him, but in me.

A Rebirth in Real Time

I wiped my face — tears, snot, everything — and walked into my house with a new sense of strength. A new sense of purpose. A new understanding of what healing really is.

Healing is not perfection. Healing is not bypassing. Healing is not pretending the past didn’t happen.

Healing is remembering. Feeling. Acknowledging. Clearing. Allowing.

Healing is lineage work — womb-of-creation work — the kind of work that shifts consciousness itself.

As I see the beatings my grandmother gave my dad, the ones my mom gave me, the ones my dad gave all of us in his alcoholic rage, I understand: I am not separate from them. I am not above them. I am not “better” than them.

I am them. And they are me.

And now it is my responsibility — and my privilege — to shift it all.

Just another day in paradise, as Phil Collins would say.
